Ever seen a handscraped wood floor that looked like waves were carved into it? Handscraping is a beautiful craft that accentuates the wood’s natural beauty when done by an expert floor crafter. Though many prefinished floors tout a handscraped texture, they often lack the finesse of a craftsman.
The Olympia Collection replicates a true handscraped floor with artisinal scraped boards and edges, replicating a lived-in look. This texture also can conceal future wear and tear. Forest Friendly Floors
Conservation is all about good forest management. Being forest friendly minded, we look for ways to utilize more wood from the tree. By using multiple board widths and a Classic Cut™ process of producing Olympia’s wear layer, this collection is created with much less waste than traditional sawing methods.
Did you know? The practice of using multiple widths dates back to early American settlers who practiced conservation out of necessity. Using more widths from a single tree meant cutting down fewer trees!
