Durango “Barley”

The Belinder House featured on HGTV’s Bargain Mansions.

Chic Meets Rustic

We worked with HGTV host, Tamara Day, to create a chic with a touch of rustic look on Season Two of her show “Bargain Mansions”.

Day started her design business, Growing Days, in 2008 after restoring furniture for her own home. She continues renovating homes in Kansas City with her father, Ward Schraeder, who also co-hosts “Bargain Mansions.”

As a Kansas City native, Day partners with local businesses and artists for her renovations.

Raising the Roof

During the renovation, Day built a second floor with a loft, two bedrooms, and another bath to expand the square footage.

Day designed the home with a modern, sophisticated style that beautifully goes with Durango Barley’s rustic look. Installed in the main living spaces, hallways, staircase, and even a bathroom, the multi-width solid wood floor adds warmth to the overall design.

The handscraped wood complemented other flooring, including marble tile and carpet in the upstairs bedrooms.
